CAL-EXPO VARIANTS
Listed below are the Cal-Expo variants (how fast or slow) over the last three weeks.
Take the variant listed for the date in question, and adjust the time of the horse, from that date, based on the variant.
Example 1: 8/13-Slow 2-2/5 seconds. If a horse raced that night in 1:58, their time, once adjusted, based off of the variant, becomes 1:55.3.
Example 2: 8/14-Slow 4/5's of a second. If a horse raced that night in 1:58, their time, once adjusted, based off of the variant, becomes 1:57.1.
As you can see, times on paper can be misleading. Using variants in your handicapping may be the difference between winning and losing at the track.
